Our Beneficiaries
Over the past few years, RRWC has created a new community tradition: The RRWC Garden Tour. This beautiful summer evening event is held annually each August and raises money for the Rocky River Assistance Program, student scholarships and supports our community through other organizations, causes, and projects.
Who We Support
In addition to providing scholarships to Rocky River High School students each year, we are so proud to support local organizations who help weave the fabric of our community. Past projects include:
Rocky River United Methodist Nursery School
New equipment for the young 3s preschool program.
Rocky River Community Garden
This will help build two new elevated garden boxes as well as help repair older garden boxes. The grant will also assist in adding more space to the garden.
Elle’s Enchanted Forest
This will add more inclusive playground equipment and items to support the theme of the Enchanted Forest. This playground will show children and adults that it is possible to play side by side with those that might be different.
Rocky River Public Library
This will help provide a Charlie Cart, an all-in-one, hands-on food education and nutrition program for any learning environment. The library will be able to offer programs for all ages, from tween on up, that will encourage nutritional education and food preparation skills.
Village Project
This will help continue providing nourishing meals and extended care to our neighbors experiencing a cancer crisis. Deliveries are complete with healthy non-perishable items, notes of encouragement, and handmade cards created by our youth.
RRMS PTA - Turf Project
This will kick start fundraising to raise capital to upgrade the Rocky River Middle School field space. The proposed project will benefit the Residents of Rocky River, by allowing the space to become a multi-seasonal outdoor space for the community and staff at the middle school.
Kensington School Hot Lunch Program
This will help provide a weekly hot lunch option for children in our Assistance Program.
Meals on Wheels
This will provide deliveries of up to 450 meals per week for the elderly, disabled, and those recovering from surgery/illness. They also provide non-perishable food for these populations as well.
RR Presbyterian Preschool
This will help provide sensory integration materials in the classroom. Using the new tools will help meet the needs of all the children in our classes, specifically those with sensory concerns.
In addition, we were also able to help support the following organizations:
Rocky River Schools
St. Christopher Parish
RR Public Library Children’s Department
RRWC Scholarship Program
Rocky River k-9 Unit
Rocky River Assistance Program
Thank you to our club members and the Rocky River community for your involvement and support.
Our mission—
To develop our members in intellectual endeavor, social fellowship, the promotion of general welfare and service to the community.
In keeping with our mission, the RRWC strives to unite members through various social outlets, including general meetings, social events, and fellowship, such as book club, exercise classes, potluck dinners, and more.
Through the years, the RRWC has raised more than $300,000 which was donated to dozens of local groups and scholarships in the Rocky River community. Through the hard work of our members, the RRWC hosts fundraising events each year.
The RRWC has the primary civic service responsibility of managing the Rocky River Assistance Program (RRAP). This program was founded in 1984 to help families in need living in Rocky River by providing two weeks’ worth of food every other month. In addition, the children in the program receive school supplies, clothing gift cards, and items from their holiday wish lists.
